Claregalway Versus St Brendans – 7th August 2004 – First Ever Senior Championship Win
The 7th August 2004 saw Claregalway play St Brendans in the Senior Championship. This was the first senior championship win for the club. A very young team took to the field that day. Nine of the fifteen players were 21 or less.
The St. Brendans panel contained a few familiar faces that day also. Tomas Kilcommins and John Fitzmaurice – both of whom have been big additions to the Claregalway cause in recent years having been great servants for St. Bendan’s for many years before that. Both were outstanding for St. Brendan’s on the day in August 2004. Tomas got both first half goals and John contributed a point from midfield.
