Ladies Club Updates:

Well done to the Galway Senior ladies who had a comprehensive win over Westmeath in the NFL played in St Loman’s Park Mullingar on Sunday last. Good luck to the Girls away to Donegal next Sunday Feb 9th in Letterkenny at 12pm before the Galway Mens Match. Good luck to our Players who begin their Colleges Championships this week. Well done to Roisin Hughes and Ruby Quinn who have been selected on the Galway U14 panel.

Congratulations to CBC Junior Ladies who captured the Connaught Junior A title to add to the Senior A title won in January. The Final score from Swinford was CBC 3-9 to Westport College 1-8. Sara Cogley with two and captain Shauna Brennan got the CBC goals.

A proud day for Claregalway Ladies & the Cooney family on Sunday the 26th of January, with Charlotte Cooney captaining the Galway Ladies Footballers in the opening round of the NFL. Charlotte’s sister, Fabienne has also captained the Tribeswomen in the past aswell.

Under 20’s:

Well done to our Under 20 group of players who captured the Galway County Title in December against Salthill. The first adult title at A/Senior grade for the club. A truly historic occasion.

A huge congratulations to Dara Whelan who was voted Under 20 club player of the year for 2019. Testimony to the hard work Dara has put in since a very young age…..Well done Dara

Conor Flaherty, Jack Glynn, Dara Whelan, Jason Reilly and Nathan Grainger were all involved for Galway Under 20’s in January taking part in the John Kerins League. A special mention to Jack Glynn who has been appointed Under 20 Galway captain for the 2020 campaign.

 

Minors – County representation:

Gerard O’Riordan, Jack Ramsey, Morgan Morrin, Ryan O’Connell and Kyle Long have made the Galway Minor Squad for 2020.

Club Night Out/Social:

Claregalway GAA will host a night of celebration and presentation on Saturday February 22nd in the Claregalway Hotel. The night will kick off at 7.30pm and run long in to the night with DJ JAO!

Tickets are €25 which includes a 3 course meal and of course the wonderful company of members, players, managers, family and friends.
The club night promises to be a night of great celebration and fun.

Juvenile:

Keep an eye on Facebook/Twitter over the coming weeks to see when the various parts of the club are back training.

As no winner came forward for our scratch card fundraiser in the summer, the juvenile club donated the prize money of €500 to a very worthwhile charity – Laura Lynn House. Many thanks to all those who supported the fundraiser.

 

 

Golf Scramble 2019 – Thanks:

Just a note to thank all our members, players, friends & sponsors who supported our Golf Scramble held in Cregmore golf club last September. We had a total of 64 teams who played over both days in beautiful September sunshine with the course in excellent condition. Thanks to Cregmore Golf Club for hosting!
