SuperValu Schools Competition – Thursday October 12th

On the evening of Thursday, October 12th, we held the finals of the SuperValu school’s competition.

We were blessed with a lovely crisp October evening where boys’ and girls’ teams from Coolarne, Bawnmore, Claregalway, Lackage, Cregmore and Carnmore took part in the various finals. Claregalway Educate together partook in earlier rounds of the competition also.

All final matches were tight affairs with some excellent football on display. The kids represented their schools with pride and the massive crowd that attended were engrossed in each game.

Thanks to all the kids and their teachers who prepared them from the games and thanks to all the supporters that attended on the evening.

Eva Hughes and Emma Flynn were on hand to award trophies to the winning teams. All players who took part received medals and goodie bags also presented by Emma and Eva.

We are extremely grateful for the continued support of Hughes Supervalu and Flynns Supervalu. Thank you to Eva and Emma for their longstanding and ongoing support of the club. It is much appreciated.

We’d also like to extend our appreciation to Treat Café for generously providing tea and coffee during the event.

More photos from the event are available on our social media.

Thanks to Pa Dineen for being out photographer on the evening.

The MC’ing and tunes were provided by Ronan Lardner – thanks Ronan.

Thanks to all our referees and all that did the line/goals or who assisted with parking on the evening.

This is the second year of this competition and it’s been a huge success.

It takes a lot of organisation to hold an event such as this and we would like to thank all those that were involved in the planning and smooth running of it.

Looking forward to next year already!
