♻️ Claregalway GAA & LGFA – Green Club Initiatives 💚💛
As part of our ongoing Green Club work, we are introducing and highlighting a number of initiatives to help reduce waste, support our members, and improve sustainability across our club.
👟 Boot Exchange – Give Your Boots a Second Life
We are trialling a Boot Exchange initiative to help reduce waste, support families, and keep perfectly good gear in use.
Have boots at home that no longer fit? Bring them along and swap for another pair.
When & Where:
• Sundays at training (9:30–10:30 AM)
• During our Football Camp at 10:00 AM & 2:00 PM (30th March – 2nd April)
Drop off a pair, pick up a pair – simple as that.
This is a trial initiative and we would welcome your support and feedback as we get it up and running.
💧 Reusable Bottles at Knockdoemore
We have gathered a large number of reusable bottles that have been found around the grounds over the past while.
These are located just outside the front door of the clubhouse in Knockdoemore.
If you have misplaced a bottle, it is likely there. However, anyone is welcome to take a bottle if needed – simply give it a good wash and reuse.
This is another small step in reducing waste across the club.
🌱 Further Green Developments
We are continuing to build on our sustainability efforts with further improvements at our facilities:
🚲 Bike Shelter
A new bike shelter has recently been installed just behind the clubhouse in Knockdoemore, providing secure storage for those cycling to the grounds.
☀️ Solar Panels
We have also installed a significant number of solar panels, helping to reduce our carbon footprint and energy costs into the future.
