Claregalway GAA Club- 2019

 

Ladies 2019:

The Adult ladies again had a busy and successful season.  The senior ladies reached both the Championship and league Finals only to be defeated by Kilkerrin\Clonbern in both.

The Team had success in the inaugural Coen Cup where they defeated Caltra Cuans in the Final while they also retained the National Sevens Shield Title with an outstanding day of football on the eve of the All. Ireland.

The Junior Team had an outstanding season winning the Division 4 League title and also the County Junior A Championship.  They performed brilliant in the Connaught Junior Championship with away wins in Sligo and Roscommon before suffering a narrow defeat in the Connaught Final to CL McHale Rovers from Mayo.

Six Junior and Four Senior players were selected on the 2019 County Dream Teams and Megan Glynn also became the Clubs first Female All Star nominee.

The Minor ladies reached the County semi and put in a sterling performance before losing out to Clonbern 3-9 to 4-9.

The u16 ladies fielded two very successful Teams capturing the Division 1 and 4 Championships plus the Division 1 League Title.  The U-14 ladies excelled in the Feile claiming the County Title and going on to capture the National Div 1 Title when the Feile was hosted locally in the end of June. This year saw the Club field a third Team in the Galway Championships for the first time.

The U-12 Girls also fielded 3 Teams in both the County League and Autumn Competitions capturing the Division 4 Competition. The U-10 Girls took part in local Blitzes and also travelled Bekan for the Connaught Blitz.  The U-8 academy took place each Saturday during the season and played a number of Blitzes with local Teams
