Club Notes Week Ending 24th September 2023

Mens News:

Our Senior men overcame Dunmore MacHales on a scoreline of 1:12 to 2:07 in Ballinasloe on Saturday. The result sees us topping the group and heading straight into the Quarter finals! The weather impacted on other fixtures over the weekend so we will not know who we will face or when for a while yet. Well done to the lads and management team on a brilliant run in group 3 with just the one loss in our first game against Mountbellew/Moylough.

Thanks to Glynns Fruit and Veg for their ongoing support of the Mens Senior club.

Fixtures are all subject to change/cancellation at short notice so please keep an eye on the website or social media also.

Thanks to The Claregalway Hotel for their ongoing support of the Ladies Senior club.

Juvenile:

Well done to our Under 13 boys and management who won the Under 13 Division 4 County final beating a very good Ballinasloe team on a scoreline of 4-9 to 3-6.

Great stuff lads – a great season full of improvement and fun!!

A great win by our Under 12 red team last Thursday evening winning the shield final against Headford. They played some lovely football and were deserving winners. Well done lads. Thanks to Headford and the match officials!

Like many of our juvenile age groups we have over 60 players playing in this age group with multiple teams having taken part in competitions over the past number of months. A great season for this entire age group who are improving all the time and most importantly creating memories that will last forever!

Thanks to all of our parents and coaches who support all of our players!

Supervalu Schools Competition:

On the evening of Wednesday, September 27th, we are gearing up for the exciting conclusion of the Claregalway GAA National Schools competition. The atmosphere promises to be a blend of camaraderie and fierce competition.

For the second consecutive year, we are extremely grateful for the continued support of Hughes Supervalu and Flynns Supervalu. We’d also like to extend our appreciation to Treat Café for generously providing tea and coffee during the event.

Last year, the final evening drew a massive crowd of parents, relations and friends to witness the talents of the players representing each of the seven participating schools: Claregalway National School, Claregalway Educate Together, Carnmore National School, Lackagh National School, Bawnmore National School, Cregmore National School, and Coolarne National School.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the boys’ and girls’ teams from these schools for their enthusiastic participation. We eagerly anticipate an outstanding evening of football on the 27th, with the boys matches throwing in from 17:15 and the girls matches throwing in from 18:15

As we are expecting a large crowd, we would ask that people carpool where possible. Please keep an eye on our social media for updates.
