Club Notes Week Ending 24th April 2022

Fixtures and results:

Our Seniors were out on Saturday last against Bearna in Division 2 League in Claregalway. The result didn’t go their way however losing out on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-18.

Next fixture is against St James on the 8th of May – details TBC

 

Our Junior A’s defeated Caherlistrane in the Division 4B League in Knockdoemore on Thursday evening on a scoreline of 1:10 to 1:08

They are out next against Renvyle on Saturday the 7th of May – Details TBC

 

Our Junior B’s bet Athenry on a scoreline of 8:13 to 1:6 on Sunday.

Next fixture is Loughrea on Friday the 6th of May – Details TBC

 

Our Junior Cs beat Naomh Anna-Leitir Mor on Friday last in the Junior C Championship West in Knockdoemore on a scoreline of 2:12 to 0:6

Next fixture is against Oileain Arainn on Friday the 6th of May – Details TBC

Representation:

Well done to Jack Glynn who made his championship debut in the victory against Mayo at the weekend!

 

Congratulations to our 6 players Cillian Trayers, Éanna Monaghan, Eoin Geraghty, Jack Lonergan, Owen Morgan & Ryan Flaherty who made the County Minor panel. A special mention to Jack & Éanna who are joint captains.  Their first game was against Roscommon in Tuam last Friday which they won. It was a brilliant performance from the lads.   Role on Sligo next Friday in Markievicz Park!

Leah OHalloran, Eabha ORiordan, Laura Scanlon and Aoibhe OFlynn all represent the club on the county LFGA Minor Panel who defeated Roscommon to setup a Final versus Mayo over the May bank holiday weekend (details TBC)

 

Congrats to Rhona Connolly and the Galway Under 14 ladies who topped their group in the qualifiers on Saturday.

 

Well done to club ladies, Emily Brogan, Roisin Hughes, Zoe Duggan, Ruby Quinn and Maeve Meehan who were all on the Galway Under 16 panel last week.

 

Best Wishes – Scór:

 

Ruth Treacy, Nicole McLaughlin, Ronan McCormack, Clodagh Crowley and Emma Crowley represent the club in the traditional music category in Killarney over the May Bank holiday Sunday in the All Ireland Scor final.

They’ve picked up the Galway and Connacht titles over the past few weeks – which is a brilliant achievement. Well done to the group and their mentors and best wishes in the All Ireland!

Gaelic4Mothers and Others:

Claregalway G4MO have returned to training on Wednesdays at 20:00 in Knockdoemore. New members welcome at any stage during the season.

Club EGM:

The club will be holding an EGM on May the 4th in the Knockdoemore Clubhouse at 19:30. All club members are invited to attend.
