Club Notes Week Ending 8th May 2022

Fixtures and results:

Mens:

Our Seniors lost to St James on Saturday in Mervue on Saturday on a scoreline of 4:14 to 2:16.

 

Our Junior A’s  are out next against Renvyle in Letterfrack on Sunday the 15th of May at 12:00

 

Our Junior B’s drew with Loughrea on Friday last in Claregalway. The score was 2:12 apiece.

 

Our Junior Cs made the trip out to Inis Mor to play Oileain Arainn. The game was played in glorious sunshine however the result did not go our way. We lost on a scoreline of 3:14 to 2:10

Div 3 Claregalway v Menlough Skehana at 6:30pm on Sun 15-May in Knockdoemore

U12 LGFA Results & Fixtures

Zone 3 Claregalway opened their league campaign with a victory over St Michaels on Thu 5-May

There are plenty underage fixtures taking place during the week also.

Feile 2022:

We had 7 teams (4 boys and 3 girls) represent the club in Feile over the May bank Holiday. Well done to all of our teams and thanks to the many volunteers who helped make the event such a memorable one for all of our teams.

Our boys A team won the overall final beating Oranmore/Maree in a tight final held on Bank Holiday Monday in Tuam stadium. The scoreline was 3:4 to 1:4. A terrific performance with Cormac Feeney getting man of the match!

Well done to the lads and their mentors.

Representation:

Jack Glynn was part of the Galway Senior team that defeated Leitrim in Pearse stadium on Sunday. The Connacht final is next up for Jack and the Seniors.

Well done to our 4 Minor ladies Laura Scanlon

Aoibhe O Flynn, Leah O Halloran, Eabha O Riordan who were on the Minor Panel on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon that defeated Mayo in the Connacht Final. Andrea Glynn was also part of the Management Team.

Best wishes to Cillian Trayers, Éanna Monaghan, Eoin Geraghty, Jack Lonergan, Owen Morgan & Ryan Flaherty representing Galway in the Minor Championship this coming weekend.

They’ve had two wins from two so far with Mayo the next fixture this coming weekend.

 

There are numerous players at all levels representing the club with county panels – well done and best wishes to all.

Gaelic4Mothers and Others:

Claregalway G4MO hosted a friendly against Salthill/Knocknacarra last Wednesday in Knockdoemore. A fantastic team performance by Claregalway. Thanks to referee James Molloy and Salhhill/Knocknacarra.

Training is on Wednesdays at 20:00 in Knockdoemore. New members welcome at any stage during the season.
