Club News June 2019 |
Senior Mens Update:
The Seniors have defeated Oranmore and Annaghdown in recent weeks and are in good positions in both league and championship. They face the Aran Islands away this Saturday the 8th of June and a win will leave them well within the race for promotion to division 1. As it stands they have Aran (away), Carraroe (home) and Barna (away) as the remaining games in the league for the season. They face Leitir Mor in round 2 of the championship on the weekend of June 22nd/23rd where they will look to build on a strong start made in Kenny Park a couple of weeks ago. Danny Cummins continues his preparation for the Connacht Final v Roscommon while Jason O’Reilly, Conor Flaherty, Jack Glynn and Conor Campbell continue to ply their trade with the Galway u20s with Campbell having been appointed captain for the year. Nathan Grainger continues to catch the eye for the Galway Minors.
The Junior A’s face Salthill away this Friday evening at 8pm in The Priarie. They have drawn with Na Piarsaigh and were defeated away to Kilannin in recent weeks. Their championship campaign is due to start in the coming weeks.
The Junior B’s followed up their victory over Milltown on day 1 of the league with a hard fought victory over Annaghdown in Cregg the Wednesday before the Seniors went to battle winning by the minimum on a 1-15 to 1-14 scoreline. They face Corofin away Friday night with an 8pm throw in also.
