Club News December 2018

Fixtures and Results:

The Seniors played their final Division two match during November with a win against Micheal Breathnachs with a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-10

The seniors also beat St. James in the John Dunne Cup Semi-Final on a scoreline of 2-7 to 1-8

The John Dunne cup final fixture hasn’t been confirmed as of yet so please keep an eye on Facebook/Website for updates.

Juvenile Updates:

The  Under 16s played Mícheál Breathnach’s in the Under 16 Div 1B Championship final and won with a scoreline of 3-12 to 3-10 in a very entertaining match. Well done to all involved.

The Juvenile AGM takes place on Wednesday the 12th of December at 21:00 in the Lakeview Community Centre. All are welcome.

 

Recent Ladies News:

The Under 16 ladies won the county championship with a win over Kilkerrin/Clonberne. Well done to all involved.

Chellene Trill won the young player of the year during the month. A great achievement.

The AGM of the Claregalway Ladies Committee was held last Monday 19th November in the Claregalway Hotel. The following are the Officers for 2019; Chairperson: Elaine Goldrick , Vice Chairperson: Eugene Kearney, Secretary: Lorna McNicholas, Treasurer:Maura Murphy, PRO:Jimmy Gavin, Registrar:Michael Kearns, Child Welfare Officer:Edel Noone, County Board Delegates :Eugene Kearney and Helen O’Riordan

Ladies teams managers for 2019 are;

U-8 Elaine Goldrick and Coaching Team

U-10 Vacant…A Coaching Team is in place

U-12 Pat & Aoife Connolly plus their Coaching Team

U-14 PJ Fallon, Ray Quinn, Breda Lynch and Coaching Team

U-16 Helen  O’Riordan and Coaching Team

Minor Eugene Kearney, Christine Moran

Junior/Senior Vacant.

 

The Clubs Annual Breakfast morning will take place in the Claregalway Hotel on Sunday 16th December from 9.30 to 12:30.

Strictly Claregalway:

Plans are being put in place for the eagerly anticipated Strictly Claregalway 2019 with training having started over the past few weeks. The big event happens on Friday the 1st of February in the Claregalway Hotel. This promises to be a great nights entertainment. Please support our dancers and sponsors over the coming weeks and keep an eye on Facebook for updates.

50th Anniversary Celebrations

The club celebrated it’s 50th anniversary with an event in the Claregalway Hotel. It was a fantastic night of memories. Thanks to all involved.

Light up Knockdoemore:

The tree lighting will take place on Saturday the 8th at 18:30. Everyone is invited to this. If you want to purchase a light/card you can do so online, or at Hughes Supervalue in Claregalway or on the evening of the lighting. More information HERE

Christmas is just around the corner. If you’d like to support the club and buy a gift at the same time you can purchase a lotto ticket online as a gift, buy some club gear online or purchase a card/light for the Lightup Knockdoemore event.

We’d ask that you support local business in the run up to Christmas.
