Starting in 2019, Claregalway GAA are running an ‘early membership’ promotion.

All Juvenile members, boys and girls U-16 & younger, will receive a free training top once their membership is completed before May 1st, 2019. The Ladies and Juvenile committees are responsible for the administration of the scheme within their clubs. It is intended that players will receive a Training Top voucher from Team Managers, once membership payment has been confirmed. The player can then collect their top from the Clubhouse on Saturday afternoon (girls) and Sunday morning (boys and girls) or at another pre-arranged time.

If you have already registered – thank you. The club will be in contact in due course in relation to the above.

Please note it is the intention of the club that everyone has a chance to play football. Special circumstances can be accommodated. Please see more info in the “Register Here” link below.

Fixtures and Results:

The season is has started to ramp up over the past few weeks and continues to gain pace with fixtures upcoming across various parts of the club there are plenty fixtures set over the next few weeks. Please get out and support the club when you can and keep an eye on the fixtures and results section to keep up to date.

Feile 2019 Fundraiser:

A table quiz will be held in the Claregalway Hotel this Friday the 05th of April at 20:00

MC for the night is Ollie Turner. There will be spot prizes and finger food. Tables of 4 €40

A Facebook competition for a free table at the quiz is currently running. Please see HERE

The winner will be announced Thursday so act fast!

Recent Ladies News:

Good luck to the Clubs U14 ladies who begin their Season tomorrow evening away to St Brendans in Newbridge at 6:30 Congratulations to the Galway girls U14 who reached the Connaught Final on Saturday with 2 wins and 1 draw in the Connacht blitz. Claregalway were well represented with 6 players on the squad. Galway now play Mayo in the Connacht final in 2 weeks . Well done to the Clubs Senior Ladies who overcame Moycullen in the Senior League played in Knockdoemor on Saturday evening. The sides were level 2-7 apiece at halftime but a much improved second half performance saw Claregalway pull away to win 6.13 to 2.12. The Junior ladies were also in action on Sunday morning in Lakeview where they played Milltown. Despite missing some regulars the team put it up to the visitors for most of the match and lost out in the end 1-11 to 3-9. Hard luck to the CBC Senior ladies who lost their All.Ireland final by 2 points last Friday and best wishes to their Juniors in their All.Ireland this Saturday. Good luck to the Galway Senior ladies who play Donegal this Sunday at 2pm in Corofin.

Claregalway GAA – Caring about Careers:

Some members within the club have come together to develop a new initiative which aims to assist our young players with education advice and career options as well as potentially identifying employment opportunities.

NUI Galway Player of the year awards:

NUIGalway GAA hosted the player of the year awards in NUIGalway on Monday evening.
NUIGalway GAA officer Michael O Connor welcomed all and congratulated the high standard of the winners who were making headlines every weekend on the college, club and national stage. Clubs Participation officer Kathy Hynes lauded the great efforts of all and said that events such as the awards night was recognising all teams who play for the college at all levels.

Amongst the winners were two of our own club players:
Senior Ladies Football: Emilie Gavin
Fresher A Football: Conor Campbell

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WINNERS, Particularly Emilie  and Conor .

Juvenile News:

An open day for the Juvenile Boys and Girls took place on Sunday the 24th of March Knockdoemore club house.

All boys teams apart from the Under 6 age group started back training that day.

The Under 6 group back the on Sunday the 7th of April at 9:45

The Under 8 and Under 10 Girls are back training on Saturday the 6th of April. All other ladies age groups are already back training.

Easter Camp:

The Easter camp (for kids aged 6 to 13) takes place from the 15th till the 18th of April (4 Days) and runs from 10:00 till 14:00.

Cost is €40 per child. €30 for the second child or €90 for a family of 3 or more.
