Covid19 has taken a toll on us all. We are no longer able to do the things we took for granted on a daily basis.
The impact on the senior citizens within our community has been even greater. These are the people that have helped to shape the fantastic community we live in. To show our appreciation and highlight the value that our senior citizens have brought and continue to bring to our community, Claregalway GAA club are organising a community fundraiser to support the Claregalway and District Day Centre.
The Day Care Centre provides vital services to people from across our community inclusive of Claregalway, Turloughmore and Carnmore.
The Never Too Old Charity shop was their main source of income but is currently closed, so they really need our help.
On the June Bank Holiday weekend, Saturday & Sunday May 30th & 31st and Monday June 1st, we are asking all in the community to run, jog or walk and donate for the Day Care Centre.

You can run, jog or walk on 1, 2 or all 3 days – whatever works for you. There is no entry fee but we are hoping to raise €1 for every km covered.
We are just asking people to give what they can! Let’s have some fun – do it in fancy dress, solo a ball for 5km, do a 5km run around the garden, take a stroll on the road – whatever you can do. We will have some prizes for best novelty ideas.
Our target is to cover 5000kms – from Knockdoemore Park to Gaelic Park in New York City, where Galway were supposed to play this year.
